Valentines for Don Cornelius - The Complete Series

Valentines for Don Cornelius - The Complete Series
(SoulTrain.com)

By Mr. Joe Walker

In the fall of 2011, Full Force member Bowlegged Lou and I began ochestrating idea, the plan was to create a SoulTrain.com exclusive all-star tribute to Soul Train creator, Don Cornelius. As it began to take shape I came up with its title, "Valentines for Don Cornelius", set to unveil during Black History Month/Valentines Day 2012. Sadly, Cornelius passed Feb. 2 of '12. I continued the tribute, which carried on as star-studded feature articles in Feb. of 2013 and 14. I've compiled the entire series here. Enjoy!

Soul Train holds a significant position in American History, as well as a certain royalty in the Black community. The television show's social relevance was unrivaled for how it portrayed and uplifted Blacks during a time of civil and racial unrest. During the month of February I it make it a goal to write articles for SoulTrain.com which celebrate Black History Month in unique, educational, passionate, and entertaining ways. Here's every article from 2011 - 2015. Enjoy!

"Move My Arms Around" by Rick Chyme & Nixon featuring Suport

This Rick Chyme & Nixon single wastes no airtime. It gets right to the high-energy rhymes and wordplay, doesn't drag on in the end. Nice assist from Rocket Science rhymer Suport on this too. Check it out.

Countdown to WWE Royal Rumble 2016: What if AJ Styles Wins?

We’re counting down to the Royal Rumble: a variation of the traditional Battle Royal match with a total of 30 competitors. Two WWE Superstars start in the ring, every 90 seconds thereafter another Superstar enters. A Superstar is eliminated when they’re thrown over the top rope and both feet touch the floor. Traditionally, the last remaining Superstar is guaranteed a championship opportunity at WrestleMania versus the current WWE World Heavyweight Champion. On Jan. 24th the Champion is required to defend his title in the Royal Rumble match; the first time its winner claims gold since Rumble ’92. | By Mr. Joe Walker
